Multiple Impact Study

Brock Material and Multiple Impact Testing

As seen in the independent test below, Brock consistently G-max’s in the mid 90’s even after multiple hits in the same location. Brock absorbs the impact so the athlete doesn’t have to.

Artificial Turf Surface Lab Test Report

Test Date: July 1, 2003
Report Date: July 3, 2003

Methods

ASTM F 355: Standard Test Method for Shock-Absorbing Properties of Playing Surface Systems and Materials, Procedure A. Accelerometer last calibrated July 12, 2001. Tests performed by Jennifer Himmelsback, M.S.. Averages are the mean of drops 2 and 3.

The standard F355 test was performed three times to condition the sample, which had been emptied of all infill material and refilled. After the material was returned to the carpet layer, the material was massaged by hand for three minutes to settle and distribute the infill. A 25-lb weight plate was then placed over the sample and pounded with a 1-lb rubber mallet to tamp the infill down. The results below indicate a further settling of the material.

Report Date: July 3, 2003

Methods

ASTM F 355: Standard Test Method for Shock-Absorbing Properties of Playing Surface Systems and Materials, Procedure A. Accelerometer last calibrated July 12, 2001. Tests performed by Jennifer Himmelsback, M.S.. Thirty-six consecutive drops were made one minute apart. The sample was not reconditioned between trials.

The sample had been emptied of all infill material and refilled. After the material was returned to the carpet layer, the material was massaged by hand for three minutes to settle and distribute the infill. A 25-lb weight plate was then placed over the sample and pounded with a 1-lb rubber mallet to tamp the infill down. The results shown indicate no further settling of the material.
