Brock's roots started in the medical products industry where current Chairman of the Board Rick Jay pioneered two separate yet unique companies utilizing our patented polyurethane bead expansion process in wheel chair cushions and hospital bed mattresses. Building upon this success, Brock International started in 1998 with a focus on providing the world's most effective impact protection material for the athletic equipment and the outdoor backpacking/sport equipment industries. This body cooling and impact absorbing protective padding came to be known as Brock Foam. As the company gained success in this area, we applied our knowledge of polypropylene bead expansion into unique properties for the flooring and athletic field industries, primarily as an underlayment for ceramic tile and synthetic turf.
Brock Performance Base was the industry's first complete base replacement technology for synthetic turf. Optimized to enhance player safety and performance while improving field drainage, and with over 8 million square feet installed on athletic fields worldwide, Brock Performance Base set the standard for athletic field performance and construction.
Building on the experience of Brock Performance Base, Brock developed its next generation called Brock PowerBase for athletic fields. With millions of sq ft installed worldwide, Brock PowerBase is engineered to provide you with the most advanced, state-of-the-art, cost-effective synthetic turf field possible, in the only closed loop recyclable product in the industry. Brock PowerBase carries the C2C Silver Certification, the prestigious award for sustainable products.
In 2006, Brock partnered with Custom Building Products out of Seal Beach, California to market EasyMat, a lightweight sound deadening foam material used under ceramic floor tiles. In 2010, Brock introduced Brock PaverBase, and innovative base replacement product for residential paver patios and walkways. This unique, innovative product now has many installations nationwide, saving contractors and homeowners time, money and labor.
